Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy is a healthcare treatment focused on restoring movement, reducing pain, and improving physical function after injury, illness, or strain. Using hands-on therapy, guided exercise, education, and movement-based techniques, physiotherapists help patients recover safely and regain strength, mobility, and confidence in their everyday activities.

Physiotherapists can help you with:

  • Promoting optimal mobility, physical activity and overall health and wellness
  • Preventing disease, injury, and disability
  • Managing acute and chronic conditions, activity limitations, and participation restrictions
  • Improving and maintaining optimal functional independence and physical performance
  • Rehabilitating injury and the effects of disease or disability with therapeutic exercise programs and other interventions
  • Educating and planning maintenance and support programs to prevent re-occurrence, re-injury or functional decline

At BIHC, our physiotherapists will perform a detailed history and physical examination, where they will customize a treatment plan to suit a patient’s specific needs. BIHC’s Physiotherapists perform MSK (Musculoskeletal) therapy, where they utilize many therapeutic techniques like: manual therapy, acupuncture, analgesic modalities, rehabilitative exercise, education, and ergonomic/postural training.

“Physiotherapy has been proven to be effective in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of acute and chronic conditions, the prevention of injury and disability, and in promoting health and wellbeing.” –Ontario Physiotherapy Association
