Yes! BIHC offers direct billing to many Insurance/Benefit Plans. When you come for your first appointment, bring your information with you, and the front desk will set up direct billing if it is available under your plan. If your plan does not offer direct billing, you will need to submit a receipt for reimbursement through your Benefit provider.

Although our services are not covered by OHIP, many extended health care plans will reimburse a portion or all of the fees for our services. Please check with your Benefit Plan provider directly for your coverage levels and annual maximums.

We accept Cash, Debit, Visa, and Mastercard. We also offer direct billing to accepted Extended Health Benefit Plans.

No referral is necessary to make an appointment with any of our practitioners.
Although many doctors and other health care workers in the community choose BIHC as their treatment centre for referrals.

With the shortage of family doctors, BIHC can provide many health care services for you. Our Chiropractors can perform physical exams focused on musculoskeletal and neurological concerns and order X-rays if necessary.

Also, our Team can help support concussion baseline testing and management, as well as support prenatal and Postnatal Care for both Mom and Baby.

After you book your appointment online, by phone, or in person, you will be given forms to fill out to help the team get to know you, your health history, and key areas of concern.

You will be welcomed by the front desk, who will take you to see your Practitioner in a private room. There, your Practitioner will review your information in a conversation, getting to know you and your key areas of concern. You will then undergo a manual assessment and discuss a treatment plan moving forward, including exercises to support you at home, the frequency of appointments, and the type of therapy to expect at appointments – your individual treatment plan. The Practitioner will also recommend whether any diagnostic testing is needed (e.g., X-ray, Ultrasound) and whether any other Practitioners at BIHC can support your treatment plan.

BIHC is a team ready to support you, and you are welcome to ask any questions throughout your first appointment for understanding and clarification.

Absolutely! At BIHC, we work cohesively as a team to support your needs. This means you are not locked into one practitioner and can see multiple BIHC practitioners.

For example, you see the women’s health team for pelvic floor physiotherapy and prenatal and postpartum chiropractic care. You also see a physiotherapist for leg strengthening after an injury and chiropractic care for your migraines. A whole team supporting your needs, all in one place.

At BIHC, appointments typically range from 20 minutes to 40-45 minutes, depending on the practitioner. Some practitioners work with you one-on-one for your entire visit, while others have PTAs supporting portions of the visit.

Depending on your time and personal needs, you can speak to the front desk about who might be a good match.

Having a wide range of professionals in one place means we treat a wide variety of conditions. We are experienced in treating everything from acute conditions, such as strains and sprains, to chronic pain, illness and disease. Maybe you don’t have a specific condition and just want to get healthier. We can help with that, too!

At BIHC, we strive to improve your quality of life through preventative medicine and healthy living. If you have any questions about how BIHC can help you, please contact our Centre to speak with us directly.
